Transforming a home in Buckinghamshire, we embraced the challenge of remodeling to create a more open and inviting space. By removing the existing exterior walls, we expanded the kitchen, making it a bright and airy hub for family gatherings. Relocating the bathroom further into the house not only optimized the layout but also allowed the reading room, dining room, and kitchen to enjoy views of the garden and an abundance of natural light. This thoughtful design enhances both functionality and aesthetics, making the home a true sanctuary.

The new extension features a glulam frame that not only enhances the modern aesthetic but also adds visual warmth to the space. By exposing the structure internally, it creates an inviting atmosphere while promoting sustainability, as glulam has a carbon footprint significantly lower than that of steel. This Pugin-esque expression of structure continues throughout the home, with exposed black-painted steel columns supporting the second storey, showcasing the integrity and honesty of the construction.
